My Top 3 WORST Tim Hortons donuts

If you haven’t yet, check out my other recent article “My Top 5 FAVORITE Tim Hortons’ Donuts”. As a reminder, me and Mariana tried to taste test every single Tim Hortons donut available, rating each out of 5 stars. However our stomachs could only handle ten of them so here’s our top 3 worst donuts

3) Double Chocolate

Rating: 2.5 out of 5.

I feel like chocolate lovers will hate me for this, but I wasn’t a fan of this donut. It’s not like I hate chocolate flavored desserts, I just don’t like obsessive chocolate flavored things. Obviously, double chocolate is one of those kind of flavored desserts.

I did appreciate the fluffy, softness of the donut because the chocolate frosting on top made the donut more fudge-y. This combination made this pastry taste more like a brownie than a donut. However, the double chocolate donut was filling and was the donut that made me realize that I would not be able to try every donut I bought.

2) Cinnamon Coffee Cake Glaze

Rating: 2 out of 5.

I get it, it’s cinnamon and sweet glaze, but I was waiting for more pizazz. With each bite, I got disappointed waiting for something more, like something to elevate this donut. I’m not a donut expert, but for me it felt very bland almost as if it was missing an ingredient.

I felt it was a very faint coffee flavor, but I liked the glaze crunch with it.

1) Banana Bread Chocolate Chip

Rating: 1 out of 5.

I wasn’t really sure what to expect from this, but I was overall disappointed. Initially, before taste testing, I assumed it would taste more like chocolate covered bananas because we both misread the name and thought it was a chocolate banana donut.

Instead, it was more of a chocolate banana bread. Trust me, I love chocolate banana bread, but I’ve only had it warm and homemade. The combination construed expectations from what I thought it was suppose to taste like and for what chocolate banana bread is suppose to taste like ruined my overall experience with the donut.

Mariana also had similar misconceptions of what this donut would be, thinking this would taste more like an artifical, Laffy Taffy banana with chocolate. However, she found it more of a “pleasant surprise” then I did.

Overall, I would be willing to retry not only the Banana Bread Chocolate Chip donut, but the rest of these donuts as well. I’m sure many fans of these donuts will come for me on my opinions, but I’m curious to see if there’s any other Tim Hortons donuts you would like me to try! Let me know down below!!
